Aerobatic Tactics gives you the exciting opportunity to experience display training in the UK as a wingwalker on top of our Boeing Stearman Biplane from our bases at Damyns Hall Aerodrome in Essex or Headcorn Aerodrome in Kent. Gift vouchers are available should you want to give this wingwalking experience to a friend or relative.

Wingwalker Training
After a full safety brief and training session for your wing walk you will be strapped into the five-point safety harness on top of our striking blue and yellow biplane. Once airborne, you will take part in a thrilling 10 minute display practice as your highly-experienced display pilot uses precision flying skills to perform graceful manoeuvres including fly pasts for your friends and family to see.you wing walking. 
Meanwhile you will perform a carefully choreographed routine from the rig, demonstrating your newly-learned finesse for balance and poise, before finishing in a grand finale zoom climb up to a hair-raising135 mph. After landing, you will receive a commemorative certificate to confirm your new skill as a trained wingwalker,a privilege normally restricted to air show wingwalkers. Aerobatic Tactics operates the only UK registered Boeing Stearman, fitted with four ailerons and 300hp engine, approved by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) for wingwalking in the UK.
Please note that wingwalkers must be under 12 stone (77kg), less than 6' tall,over 18 and sign a fitness declaration.

Our Wingwalkers and your Wing Walk Instructors Romey & Jos

The Rig The wingwalking rig took two years to develop.Once designed, thorough stress analysis and construction were completed and the wingwalking rig was fitted to the Stearman.  A test pilot from the Civil Aviation Authority carried out a series of flights  to test the rig. The final test flight featured a 6ft dummy strapped into the wingwalking rig to determine  performance and handling changes.  After the rigorous  test schedule, the CAA approved the wingwalking rig  as a major modification for the Stearman.
